Sample Lesson Plan

Title: Group topic broken up by sets of objectives (ie: ancient Caribbean history, Modern Central Am. Culture)

Objectives: Students will be able to...- (use an observable action, identify, define, build, create, summarize, act out, do not use learn or understand) which essential questions will each set of objectives answer?

Essential Questions- What are the 3-5 final overall concept questions the class should be able to answer that summarizes the most important facts from the research on your wiki. Please include the answers.

Activity: Break it down into steps of what the students and teachers will be doing to achieve the objectives in the amount of time allotted

Materials: Specific list based on the needs for the lesson. Give copies to be made to Ms. Skatz.

Assessment: Does not have to be a written test (verbal review, competition, graded paperwork) but should prove the students can answer the essential questions

Personal Rubric
HW May 3- describe your ideas on a code of ethics using the wiki space on the discussion board. You may write them if internet access is unavailable. 10 Points

HW May 4- Text book essential questions/answers- cover complete topic 10 Points

HW May 9- Other source essential questions/answers- at least one credible source per person with notes
Different than those from the textbook. 10 Points

HW May 9- MLA format of additional source for works cited- at least one credible
Source in correct format per person (alphabetical) included in 10 point essential question grade

Participation- Is fully engaged in other lessons and does not sleep, talk, or do work while others present. 5 Points a day to equal 60 Points

Evaluations- each student will evaluate the other 3 group members based on participation on the discussion board, in the reaserch, on the editing, on the lesson plan, in the essential questions, decorum. Due after you teach, no later than June 6th. 60 points

Group Rubric

Essential Questions- 2-5 overall ideas the students should take away from the lesson 50 Points
answers are found throughout the wiki page. They should use facts to answer overall ideas, not
only ask for one word, recall answers. This grade will be evaluated by Ms. Skatz the day your
space is evaluated by the Spanish V students.

Lesson Plan(s)- typed plans that follow the sample lesson format. Plans should meet the objectives and provide students the tools to answer the essential questions Do not put on wiki but print out and hand in. (5 points for title; 15 points for specific, observable objectives; 20 points for relevant essential questions and answers; 30 points for detailed activity describing what each teacher and student is doing at each point and using which materials; 10 points for specific materials listed (helps Ms. Skatz prepare); 10 points describing exactly how you will test the students know the answers to the essential questions; 10 points for mechanics (grammar, following the provided format, easy to read) and creativity). Due Monday, May 14th. 100 Points

Teaching Day- group knows topic and plan, students can answer essential questions 200 Points

Works Cited- correct MLA format, at least one source per person (not including textbook) at least 1 book 50 points
at least one online source. Due the day you teach
